Mgr. Maria Szadkowska
Maria Szadkowska is a curator and art historian specialising in modern architecture, authentic interiors, and the methodology of making them accessible to the public. For more than twenty years she worked at the Prague City Museum, where she founded and led the Centre for Monuments of Modern Architecture and curated the Müller Villa and the Rothmayer Villa. She took part in the restoration of the Müller Villa, a National Cultural Monument, and shaped the concept behind opening Loos’s interiors to the public in Prague and Plzeň. Together with Prof. Leslie Van Duzer she carried out international surveys of Adolf Loos’s work in the Czech lands.
She is active in professional platforms such as ICOM DEMHIST, ICONIC HOUSES, and ICOMOS, and serves on advisory bodies focused on cultural policy, collection-building, and the protection of architectural heritage — among others, the Culture Council of the City of Sopot and the Advisory Board of the Director General of the National Gallery in Prague.
She studied art history at the Faculty of Arts of Charles University, Polish philology in Opole, and completed The Attingham Study Programme in London (Arts and Crafts Houses and Gardens, 2024).
Mgr.A. Sabina Měšťanová
Sabina Měšťanová is an architect and visual artist who has long worked at the intersection of architecture, design, and fine art. She studied applied painting, conceptual sculpture, and architecture at UMPRUM (Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague), where she completed her diploma under Prof. Eva Jiřičná. She broadened her artistic education at the Bildhauergarten der Kunstakademie Karlsruhe under Prof. Otto Herbert Hajek, and through stays abroad in Stockholm, Bordeaux, and Lisbon.
Professionally she worked at the architecture studios DA studio and D3A architecture studio, focusing on interior design, family houses, and public spaces. In parallel she runs her own creative practice under the Sabodesign brand, dedicated to original design objects and one-off pieces.
Her work spans projects of various scales, from commercial interiors to individual architecture: Nový Smíchov (2002), a family house in Svinaře (2007), the conversion of the Richter villa into a wine restaurant (2008), the Konsepti showroom in Holport (2010), and a family house in Lochkov (2012). All of her projects share an emphasis on detail, material culture, and sensitive integration into context.
JUDr. Kateřina Krylová
Attorney specialising, among other things, in collections law, copyright, and the legal framework of museum institutions
JUDr. Kateřina Krylová has long worked in the legal side of museums, collections, and cultural heritage. At the Prague City Museum she headed the legal agenda for historical collections, where she was responsible for licensing agreements, reproduction rights, loans of collection items, legal support for archaeological research, and oversight of the CES and ISO systems. Her practice also covers the legal framework for the renovation, reconstruction, and restoration of monuments.
Since 2010 she has practised as an independent attorney specialising in copyright law, publishing contracts, legal protection of collections, and representing clients in disputes arising from licensing agreements. Her combination of legal training, knowledge of museum statutes, and further study in art history allows her to provide comprehensive legal support for permanent exhibitions, exhibition projects, and publications.
